Piano Curriculum

At ELT Music Studio, students receive individualized, one-on-one instruction designed to build strong musical foundations in a supportive and engaging environment. Through our structured curriculum, students develop skills in sight reading, basic ear training, music theory, technique, music technology, and performance readiness.
Lessons are offered both in-person and virtually, based on availability and scheduling. Each student progresses at their own pace while working toward measurable goals and confident musical expression.
Students also have exciting opportunities to participate in recitals, talent showcases, and other performance engagements, held approximately every three months, giving them valuable stage experience and confidence-building moments.

LEVEL 1

Sight Reading

• Grand staff recognition
• Basic rhythm reading
• Note pattern identification

Ear Training

• High vs. low pitch
• Simple interval recognition • Major vs. minor sounds

Theory & Technique

• Note values & time signatures • Proper fingering
• Scales & simple arpeggios

Technology

• Metronome use
• Practice recording basics

Performance

• Play complete pieces • Steady tempo control • Recital participation

LEVEL 2

Sight Reading

• Multiple hand positions
• Faster interval recognition • Articulation interpretation

Ear Training

• Chord quality identification • Melody transcription
• Harmonic recognition

Theory & Technique

• Major & minor scales
• Chord inversions
• Arpeggio patterns
• Augmented & diminished sounds

Harmony

• I–IV–V progressions • Lead sheet reading

Performance

• Memorized repertoire • Expressive phrasing
• Longer performances
